June MM Visit Climate Garden

Our destination was the Climate Change Garden, a newly created space by the University of Heidelberg located on top of the parking garage on Voßstraße in Bergheim.

Despite more than half of the participants having to cancel at the last minute, five of our club members—along with our little honorary member, Jason—still gathered for an enjoyable evening together.

Our destination was the Climate Change Garden, a newly created space by the University of Heidelberg located on top of the parking garage on Voßstraße in Bergheim. Since the garden is still quite new, many of the plants have not fully developed yet. Even so, it was interesting to explore the space and learn about the concept behind it. We all agreed that we should come back in a few months, especially in the fall, when the garden will hopefully be in full bloom and showcase its true potential.

Our original plan was to continue the evening with a sunset picnic after visiting the garden. Unfortunately, the weather had other ideas. With thunderstorms forecast for later in the evening and dark clouds already appearing on the horizon, we decided it was best to cancel the picnic and reserved a table at a nearby Vietnamese restaurant instead. The spontaneous change turned out to be a great decision. Over delicious food, we enjoyed lively conversations, plenty of laughter, and the chance to catch up with one another. While the evening didn't unfold exactly as planned, it was a wonderful reminder that good company can make any outing a success.
